The Altos de Chavón photoshoot permit is required for every professional session in the village. The fee is US$100 for Casa de Campo hotel guests and property owners and US$200 for visitors staying outside the resort. Drone use requires an additional US$200 permit. Send your request by email at least four days before your session.
Altos de Chavón is a recreation of a 16th-century Mediterranean village inside Casa de Campo in La Romana. We photograph couples and families there throughout the year. This guide explains the fee, the permit process, and the details to check before your session.

These fees are set by Altos de Chavón and are separate from your photography package.
When you book with us, we share the contact details and a ready-to-copy request message, then guide you through the steps.
Sessions can start from 9:00 AM. The latest permitted start time is 5:00 PM. We recommend an early morning session or a 4:00–5:00 PM start, when temperatures are cooler and the light is softer.
Photoshoots are not authorized on December 25 or January 1.

Altos de Chavón regularly hosts weddings and private events. If an event is taking place during your session, we respect it and photograph you in other areas of the village. The stone streets, gardens, and views offer plenty of beautiful backdrops.

For a surprise proposal, paying the permit fee together at the booth could reveal the plan. We can pay the fee and you can reimburse us in cash afterward, so the surprise stays yours. Learn more about our proposal photography sessions.
We have seen authorizations list the couple or family but leave out the photographer. In that case, the photographer may be turned away, and the office may not reply again until the next morning. Confirm that the photographer’s name appears on the authorization before the session date.
