Solo & Lifestyle Photographer in the Dominican Republic
From a solo sunset portrait to a full bachelorette weekend — real moments, golden light, captured your way.
Premium Photography Solo & Lifestyle Photoshoots
As a solo & lifestyle photographer in the Dominican Republic, we shoot a lot more than weddings — a solo traveler wanting real portraits instead of another selfie, a bachelorette weekend with the whole crew, a milestone senior portrait session, or simply a lifestyle shoot that documents a trip the way it actually felt. The same golden light and documentary approach we bring to every session applies here too: real moments over stiff posing, natural Caribbean light, and a gallery that feels like you, not like a stock photo.
Whether it’s just you and the ocean, or a dozen friends celebrating a bachelorette weekend, we build the session around the energy of the group — quiet and reflective for a solo shoot, loud and candid for a celebration.
Every session follows the same approach we bring to every shoot: golden hour timing, genuine connection over posed perfection, and a gallery edited in our signature warm, consistent style
Why Shoot With Us
Three reasons solo travelers, groups, and families choose us for these sessions.
Golden Hour, Guaranteed
We schedule every session around real sunset time, so the soft, warm light that makes these photos glow is never left to chance.
Genuine, Not Staged
Whether it’s one person or ten, we shoot for real laughter and real energy — not a rigid pose list nobody actually enjoys standing through.
Local Expertise
Bilingual, based in La Romana year-round — we know exactly which beach, dock, or backdrop fits the mood you’re going for.
OUR SIGNATURE SESSIONS
Four Ways We Shoot This Category
Solo, lifestyle, celebration, or milestone — each type of session has its own pace and purpose, and we shape the shoot around it.
STYLE 01
Solo Portraits
For travelers who want real portraits of themselves instead of another arm’s-length selfie — a personal milestone, a solo trip worth remembering, or content for your own brand — we build the entire session around you and the location, no one else to direct or coordinate. It’s often the most relaxed type of session we shoot, precisely because there’s no group to manage and no one waiting their turn: just you, the beach, and enough time to actually settle into the shots instead of rushing through them. We direct gently — a suggestion here, a small adjustment there — and let the golden light and the location do most of the work, so what you get back doesn’t feel posed or stiff, it feels like a genuinely good day that happened to be photographed. Many of our solo clients are traveling alone for the first time, celebrating a birthday or a big decision, or simply want proof they showed up for themselves — whatever the reason, we treat it with the same care as any other session on this page.
STYLE 02
Lifestyle Sessions
Documentary-style coverage of a trip, a family visit, or just an ordinary beautiful afternoon — walking, talking, existing in the space, with us photographing it the way it actually happened rather than a series of posed setups. There’s no shot list and no forced smiles held for three seconds too long; we follow you through the day the way a friend with a really good camera would, catching the in-between moments most people never think to document — the walk back from the beach, the conversation over breakfast, someone laughing at something off-camera. It works well for couples who already have their wedding photos and want something looser, for families who want a record of a trip rather than a formal portrait, or for anyone who wants their photos to actually look like their life instead of a staged version of it. The result is a gallery that feels less like “we did a photoshoot” and more like “someone happened to catch us at our best.”
STYLE 03
Bachelorette & Celebrations
Girls trips, bachelorette weekends, birthdays — we photograph the whole group together first, then peel off for smaller, candid moments throughout: two friends mid-laugh, someone getting piggybacked into the water, the bride-to-be surrounded before anyone’s fully posed and ready. More people means more real reactions to catch, so we plan extra time for exactly that instead of rushing the group shot and calling it done. We also make sure everyone ends up in the gallery, not just whoever’s easiest to photograph — quieter friends, the one who hates cameras, the grandmother who came along — because a celebration isn’t really captured until the whole group is. If there’s a meaningful prop, a sign, or a specific moment you want documented (a toast, a reveal, a surprise), tell us ahead of time so we’re already in position when it happens instead of scrambling to catch up.
STYLE 04
Senior Portraits
A milestone worth marking properly — graduation portraits with the same golden-hour, documentary approach as everything else we shoot, instead of a stiff studio backdrop and a forced smile. This is often one of the last purely personal portrait sessions someone gets before life gets busier, and it deserves more than a gym backdrop and a cap tossed in the air for the hundredth time that week. We build the session around who you actually are at this point — a specific interest, a favorite outfit, a place that means something — rather than a generic template every senior in the class gets. Parents and siblings are welcome to join for a few frames too, but the focus stays on you: a portrait that looks like the person heading into whatever comes next, not just a checkbox for the yearbook.
Where We Shoot Sessions
The same locations we know well for weddings and couples' sessions work beautifully for solo and lifestyle shoots — each with its own access process.
Private villa or Minitas Beach. Host authorization and access code required: villa/resort guests pay a beach fee directly at check-in — we’ll tell you exactly what to expect before your date.
Public beach access, no permit needed — a comfortable, low-logistics option for groups and solo sessions alike.
Taxi to the nearby public beach included, no extra fee — an easy option if your group is staying at either resort.
A historic, elevated backdrop of stone and river valley for something other than sand. Access code and hosted/external fee applies, paid directly by you.
We also shoot sessions in Juan Dolio, Cap Cana, and Miches — [ask us about these locations]
Tips for Your Session
A few things we've learned from shooting sessions on the beach regularly.
01
Meaningful Props
Bring a meaningful prop if you have one — a sign, a banner, a going-away gift — but we’d steer away from balloons on the beach specifically, since wind and sand make them more trouble than they’re worth
02
Best Time to Shoot
Golden hour, last 60- 90 minutes before sunset
03
GROUP SIZE
1 to 10+ — from solo travelers to full bachelorette groups
04
The best outfits
For bachelorette and group sessions, coordinating a loose color palette (not matching outfits, just complementary tones) photographs far better than everyone in totally different colors.
05
SESSION TYPES
Solo Portraits · Lifestyle Sessions · Bachelorette & Celebrations · Senior Portraits
06
Recommended Package
For solo travel signature (45 edited photos,1 hr) — Premium for multiple outfit changes.
Larger groups should plan for a longer session — Premium package gives enough time for both the full-group shots and individual pairings without feeling rushed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you photograph solo travelers?
Yes — solo sessions are one of our most requested categories. We direct gently and use the location itself to help the session feel natural rather than posed.
Do you do bachelorette party photoshoots?
Yes. We photograph the full group together and break off for smaller, candid moments — larger groups typically do best with our Premium package for enough time to cover everyone.
What is a lifestyle session?
A documentary-style shoot that follows you through a real moment — walking, talking, existing in the space — rather than a series of directed poses. It’s less “photoshoot,” more “a beautiful afternoon that happened to be photographed.”
Do you offer senior portrait sessions?
Yes — senior portraits with the same golden-hour, documentary approach we bring to every session, shot on location instead of a studio backdrop.
Do we need a permit for these sessions?
It depends on location. Bayahibe’s public beaches need no permit: Casa de Campo and Altos de Chavón require host authorization and an access code, which we’ll walk you through in advance.
What's the best time of day to shoot?
Golden hour, as with all of our sessions — the last 60-90 minutes before sunset gives the warm, soft light our galleries are known for.
How far in advance should we book a group or bachelorette session?
We recommend 4-6 weeks for most dates, and earlier for peak season (Dec 18-Jan 5, Thanksgiving, July 4th week) or larger groups, so we can plan enough time on location.
