Yes. Minitas Beach is a private beach inside Casa de Campo resort and professional photography requires prior authorization. The access fee is US$100 if you are staying at a hotel or villa inside the resort. These fees are not included in our photography packages. We guide you through the entire process — access code, and on-site logistics — so everything flows smoothly on the day.
Golden hour — the hour before sunset — is our favorite: the water turns amber, the light goes warm and horizontal, and the beach empties out.
That said, the palm grove along the beach edge creates excellent soft shade for morning and midday sessions, ideal for families with young children or anyone with a fixed schedule. Unlike most open beaches, Minitas works at almost any hour.
Absolutely — it is one of our most requested combinations. Altos de Chavón is roughly 10 minutes from Minitas Beach, both inside the Casa de Campo estate. A combined session typically starts at Altos de Chavón during midday and moves to Minitas Beach for golden hour. The contrast between a 16th-century Mediterranean village and a private Caribbean beach in one gallery is something you cannot replicate anywhere else in the Dominican Republic. It is important to keep in mind that in each location there is a different fee to pay.

The best times are always early in the morning (around 8:00 AM), when the beach is less crowded and the lighting is ideal, or during sunset (between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM), keeping in mind that the exact time of sunset may vary depending on the time of year.
We recommend these hours because the light is much softer and the weather is significantly cooler and more comfortable for the session.
We always recommend scheduling your photoshoot during the first few days of your vacation, as weather in the Caribbean can be unpredictable. This way, if it happens to rain at the time of your session, we can easily reschedule for another day by mutual agreement. Please keep in mind that if you book it for the last day of your trip, we won’t have the flexibility to reschedule.
Yes! It is a beautiful setting for weddings in the Dominican Republic. It is very important to coordinate this session with the hotel staff or your wedding planner. Our priority is always to work with natural light to achieve that organic, luminous feel that brings every image to life. In fact, roughly 80% of our sessions are shot using natural light—and when the weather is ideal, it can even be 100%.
However, we use flash or LED lighting in specific situations (usually no more than 20% to 30% of the time) to ensure the highest image quality:
– Sunset & background retention: When the conditions allow and we want to capture the rich colors of the sunset while keeping you perfectly lit.
– Low-light environments: During indoor moments or as natural light fades toward the end of the day
–Â Weather & atmospheric conditions: On days with heavy cloud cover or atmospheric dust (like Saharan dust haze) that flattens the ambient light.
