For Dreams La Romana family photos, we photograph you at Los Melones, a beautiful public beach near the Bayahibe marina, just a few minutes from the resort. You can walk there, but for families of four or more we include a taxi that picks you up in the lobby, takes you to the beach and brings you back, so everyone arrives fresh and relaxed.
Dreams La Romana is the family resort in Bayahibe, right next to the adults-only Secrets La Romana. Most of our Dreams guests are families with young children, and this guide explains how the session works and how to make it easy and fun for everyone, from toddlers to grandparents.

Why We Don't Photograph Inside Dreams La Romana
To let an outside photographer work inside the property, the resort charges the same permit it charges for weddings, which is far too expensive for a family photo session. Instead, we use Los Melones, a public beach very close to the resort. It has no location fee, it is less crowded, and the sunset there is beautiful.
How the Included Taxi Works
- The taxi picks you up in the lobby of Dreams La Romana at the agreed time.
- It takes the whole family to Los Melones, just a few minutes away.
- After the session, it brings you back to your hotel.
Walking to the beach is also possible, because it is only a few minutes away. But with small children or older adults, we prefer to offer the taxi, so nobody arrives tired, sweaty or stressed. The taxi is included in our packages for families of four or more. Couples and families of exactly three staying at Dreams are picked up in the lobby by our team.
Tips for Family Photos With Young Children
Relax and Enjoy the Session
This is the most important tip. Young children don't pose, and they don't know how to pose: they are natural. So we photograph them playing, laughing and exploring. It is completely normal for a toddler not to follow instructions the way an older child or an adult can, and some of the most beautiful photos come from exactly those moments.
Tell Us Your Children's Ages
We love working with kids. When we know their ages in advance, we can prepare: for very little ones, we bring a few things to catch their attention and help them look at the camera.
Family Teamwork Makes the Difference
With small children, the family's help is key. When a parent or relative stands behind the camera and talks to the child, the little one follows the familiar voice and looks in that direction, right toward the lens.
Bring a Snack
Little ones sometimes get hungry in the middle of the session. Bring something they like to eat. This is where we need the parents' support: a short snack break keeps everyone happy.

Choose light, comfortable clothes and a coordinated color palette. You don't need matching outfits, just similar colors that complement the natural setting:

Best Time for Family Photos at Los Melones
We recommend the end of the afternoon, when the light is soft and warm and it is cooler for children and older family members. Sunset in Bayahibe ranges from about 5:57 p.m. in November and December to about 7:15 p.m. in July, so sessions start roughly one hour before sunset. We confirm the exact time with you.
Prefer a morning session? Afternoon slots are always the first to fill up, so a morning session is a great option, especially if you love bright daytime colors: the turquoise sea, the white sand and the blue sky look their most vivid in the morning light.
